FIRST RESEARCH
In the first part of the project we started off with an innovation workshop, which was hosted by Gerald Steiner at the University of applied Sciences, FH Joanneum. By using different creativity techniques, such as the world cafe or the 6-3-5 method, we got new insights and inspiration, which helped us to create first ideas. To analyse the current problems and to understand their relation we developed system models.
CORE IDEA
Natura is an effective and resource-saving system, which uses natural processes for cleaning. With its sustainable and autarkic System it can archive an efficient air cleaning result with plants. Energy is provided by a bio-photovoltaic process. The whole product family, which is based on a modular system, can easily be integrated into an existing architecture and upgraded with additional applications like a compost, shelf and  gardening module. The modules can be mounted on the wall or on a wooden structure and be used as a room divider.
Advanced Research
The design process started with a general research to detect all the problems which were mentioned before. To create an efficient product we determined the best air cleaning indoor plants based on the NASA clean air study, but also interviewed experts in a garden center to get informations and first hand inside about the specific needs of the plants. By using a bio-photovoltaic the system becomes self-sustaining and therefore saves resources.

Modularity
The characteristic shape of the modules allows flexible arrangement and integration in various living spaces. Different layouts and sizes can easily be put together while the unusual geometric form triggers curiosity, uniqueness and refers to a leave structure.
+
Due to the modularity of the system it is also possible to add additional applications to the configuration.
